It's not looking very promising this morning as it is even smaller, it is only in the 0-1ft range and buried under an early high tide. Very light offshore winds that are forecast to go SW to NW, then strengthen from the NNW later. The tide is dropping to alow at 11.35am. The Tweed Coast, D'bah, the far N end beachies and TOS picking up a bit more of the S swell and will improve as the tide drops, but it is barely ripple riding this morning. Take a board with lots of foam.
John Charlton spreads his time between the Gold & Sunshine Coasts. He’s been surfing this area for many a year and is totally in tune with all the different breaks and how the varying swell and wind patterns affect this wave plentiful region.
The NSW lifesaving patrol season ended on Sunday 28 April, however Salt Resort main beach is still patrolled by lifeguards 7 days a week. Byron Main Beach will be patrolled by lifeguards 7 days a week until 9 June, 2013.
Please do not take any risks during the off-season period. No Flags = No Swim! The majority of beach patrols will again commence on the first day of the September School Holidays.
