This Is The Real Difference
COASTALWATCH | ENVIRONMENT
Earth loving, movement making, action-taking surf brand Patagonia has just launched a campaign like no other. They are matching donations up to a total of $50,000. The Double Down campaign will directly fund six of Patagonia Australia's key environmental projects including;
The South West Marine Debris Cleanup - based in Tasmania's Southwest wilderness area where three ocean currents meet and a plethora of debris, rubbish and plastics from around the whole world deposit onto the beaches.
Australian Marine Conservation Society - working to raise funds to send a delegation of scientists, local stakeholders and reef advocates to the World Heritage Committee meeting in Poland to give the Great Barrier Reef and independent voice on the world stage advocating the dire consequences it's facing in the future.
3000 Acres - working in Melbourne to unlock public and private land and turning it into working gardens for the people of Melbourne.
Lock The Gate - are a coalition raising funds to inform, unite and mobilise the local communities of Margaret River against unconventional gas exploration threatening waterways and underground aquifers.
Project Clean Uluwatu - was founded by expat surfers to protect the holy place from development pressures, environmental risks and rubbish leaking into the water. They are working to assist and facilitate the handover of the group's work to the Uluwatu locals.
Seed - it's Australia's first indigenous youth climate network, protecting country and culture against the effects of climate change and fossil fuel extraction, fighting for climate justice and a sustainable future for young indigenous Australians.
So jump on between now and 2nd December (7/11/16 to 2/12/16) and be part of making a big difference to local issues with Patagonia. Simply click on the project above you'd like to assist.
*Patagonia pledges 1% of sales annually to the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. Since 1985 that has totalled over $78 million in cash and kind to small, grassroots environmental groups all over the world.
