Riders After the Storm

Last Thursday through Saturday, Sydney surfers enjoyed some of the best conditions since last winter as an East Coast Low delivered a solid dose of SE swell and offshore winds.

While there were plenty of waves all along the southern East Coast, Sydney’s eastern and southern beaches saw some epic sessions go down as the reefs at Shark Island and Cape Solander sprang to life. Solander regular Jesse Polock was lucky to escape permanent injury after a heavy wipeout left him with a mild spinal fracture requiring weeks of bedrest, but aside from that lowpoint it was a memorable few days of waves. Tim Bonython was there to capture all the action.
