Surf Report Info

Region: Lennox Head Beach to Evans Head

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Pretty Good

Our best wishes go to shark attack survivor Matt Lee who was bitten by a 4m white pointer yesterday morning at Lighthouse Beach Ballina (North Wall), Lee is now in a serious but stable condition at this stage. Beaches are still officially closed at this stage. It's smaller today but still a clean 2-3ft on the open beaches and looking good early. The winds are light WSW early and are expected to get very strong from the South later this morning. Best waves are early at theSouth swell magnets and open beaches before the wind swing. .High tide is at 9.01am this morning and the low is at 2.43pm this afternoon.
