Surf Report Sydneyby Ben Horvath
3/09/2014 7:03 AM | Report
Bondi is a white out with whitewash extending out to sea. Ben Buckler is a spray show. There goes the neighbourhood and the banks. Howling 30 - 40 knot SW/S winds and a wild and woolly 6-8ft storm swell this morning rendering most conventional surf spots unrideable. It is just too windy to contemplate carrying your surfboard let alone taking off. Lurline Bay and Coogee are the only spots worth considering, but again paddling in the wind and taking off is an issue. Maybe it will settle a little later - I will update around lunch.

Tomorrow's Surf Forecast
Weather Situation A deep, low pressure system lies over the western Tasman Sea bringing strong to gale-force southwest winds and large waves to the central part of the coast. The low is expected to move slowly to the east later today as a high pressure system moves to western NSW. The low should move slowly across the Tasman Sea Thursday and Friday with the winds and surf along the coast slowly decreasing.
Standout Sessions: First Day of Spring brings tubes to a Northern Beaches reef, watch them from the sky.
Late season Indo commences with a fairly lacklustre week of waves, but there's plenty more on the horizon for mid September.
Just when you thought it was safe to get back in the water, a second, much larger swell event looms for the NSW coast.
Your Father's Day gift is right here.
Wave of The Week: Direct from Tahiti, the Champ scores ridiculous at home.
Standout Sessions: Parko, Mick and more completely score.

It wasn't 12 foot, but there were Slabs-aplenty.
Standout Sessions: This is just not fair.
