Surf Report Info

Region: Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay - The Pass

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Poor

Wind affected waves early with fresh N winds first up in the 1-2ft range from the ENE in the Bay this morning. It's a bit bigger on the open beaches and bumpy. The winds will strengthen from the NNW, then go SSE later in the afternoon. Be aware that multiple great White sightings in the Ballina Shire means there are quite a few big sharks around. Early is best at the Northern protected corners on the incoming tide. Check the Bay after the S change comes through. High tide is at 10.23am this morning and low is just after 4pm.
