Surf Report Info

Region: Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay - The Pass

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Pretty Good

We've got SSW winds in the Bay early this morning and the ESE swell is in the 2 up to 3ft range on the open beaches and around 1 up to 2ft in the Bay. Strong SE winds are forecast later. Early try the points and S corners on the open E facing beaches on the incoming tide, with some small ones in the Bay all day with the beachies best on the higher tide and the points later as the tide drops. There have been quite few large White Pointer shark sightings and incidents at the Ballina Shire beaches lately so check it out before you go. High tide is at 9.20am and low tide is at 3.35pm.
