Surf Report Info

Region: Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay - The Pass

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Poor

There's not much happening in the Bat this morning with the ESE swell only up to 1ft range, it's bigger on the open beaches. The winds are fresh from the SW early, SSE then ESE winds are forecast later. Early try the points and S corners on the open E facing beaches on the incoming tide, with some tiny ones in the Bay on the points later as the tide drops on a very high volume board. There have been quite few large White Pointer shark sightings and incidents at the Ballina Shire beaches lately so check it out before you go. High tide is at 9.56am and low tide is at 4.10pm.
