Surf Report Info

Region: Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay - The Pass

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Poor

The swell has dropped off overnight with clean waves early in the Bay this morning with 1ft sets of a leftover South swell. The wind is a light WSW and will stay fairly light later then swing from the SE and the swell willinecrease slightly later today. The South swell magnets are bigger and will be the best option all day. There have been lots of big white pointer shark sightings and two encounters yesterday at the Ballina Shire beaches so check it out before you go.Low tide is at 8.58am and high is at 3.49pm.
