Surf Report Info

Region: Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay - The Pass

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Average

It's a clear, crisp and cold morning and todays the day to pull out your thickest warmest wetsuit because while the water temperature is fine the wind chill is a big factor. There's a moderate West wind early in the Bay this morning with a 2ft South swell on the sets and semi clean faces. The wind will strengthen from the South West later today. The South swell magnets are the best option all day with cleaner faces and they are picking up more of the new South swell. There have been lots of big white pointer shark sightings at the Ballina Shire beaches so check it out before you go. Low tide is at 6.47am and high is at 12.45pm.
