Surf Report Info

Region: Brunswick Heads to Byron Bay - The Pass

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Average

The swell direction is from the South so we have clean 1-2ft waves on the sets in the Bay and it's bigger on the open beaches and will be best there early. The winds are SSW early and forecast to be onshore later in the morning. Try the S corners on the open beaches early for some fun peaks with some very small ones in the Bay. High tide is at 7.40am this morning and low is at 1.30pm. Be aware that multiple great White sightings in the Ballina Shire and Byron Shire over the past weeks means there are quite a few big sharks around, check it out before you go.
