Surf Report Info

Region: Lennox Head Beach to Evans Head

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Average

It's dropped off a bit and is now a clean 2-3ft waves on the sets at most beaches this morning. More swell is hitting at the South swell magnets. The swell is a from the SSE and the wind is from the West that is forecast to swing ESE later today. With the predicted onshore later this morning, early will be best for clean waves. There have been multiple Great White sightings over the past few weeks that have caused the Ballina Shire and Byron Bay beaches to be closed a lot so check it out before you go. The low tide is at 7.09am this morning and high is at 2.01pm this afternoon.
