Surf Report Info

Region: Bondi Beach to Maroubra

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Pretty Good

Lunchtime update - Still some ok waves about. The wind is only light onshore E and there's still enough water over the banks for the beachies to be fun. As the tide drops during the afternoon conditions will deteriorate slightly. - Earlier report - The good news is that as per forecast there has been an increase in Easterly pulse overnight. There are plenty of 2-3ft waves about this morning. The early problem is that the tide is a bit low early, so there's quite a few close outs about. However as the tide pushes in over the banks we can expect a general improvement in surf conditions. I suspect mid morning will be the pick for boardriders with a push in tide and before the forecast NE winds kick. Try Maroubra, Bronte, Tama (before and after the flags), and Sth Bondi. Bondi will be most protected from the wind, as will Tama. Maroubra's the biggest with plenty 3ft sets.

...Check out the premiere of Holding On the movie at Avoca Beach Theatre this Friday night.
