Surf Report Info

Region: Nth Stradbroke - Point Lookout to Cabarita Beach

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Average

A stormy morning with fresh NNW winds and the swell from the ENE in the 2ft range with bigger sets. The winds is forecast to go strong N, ahead of a strong W change at around lunchtime and the tide is low early coming in to a high at 11.30am. You could try the far N end beachies and the back beaches on the Tweed Coast early if you're desperate but there's lots of lightening about early. Best to wait untill this afternoon after the W change comes through.

...... Check out the Father's Day Special on Coastalwatch. A gift to stoke every surfing dad.
