Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

A fresh, clear start to the day with SW winds and the run of E swell is over, replaced by a very small SSE swell this morning. The winds are forecast to go strong SSW later and the tide is high at mid morning with low at around 2.30pm this afternoon. Try along the open beaches on the incoming tide this morning but it is ripple riding only on the highest volume board that you have got on the incoming tide. It is a touch bigger from Peregian to A Bay.
