Surf Report Info

Region: Nth Stradbroke - Point Lookout to Cabarita Beach

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

Update. An onshore NE sea breeze has come up now on an excellent looking day and the run of small clean waves continues with the swell from the ESE in the 1 to 2ft range. The winds is dropping to a low is at 4.30pm. Forget it this afternoon now that the onshore wind is messing it up.

...... Check out the Father's Day Special on Coastalwatch. A gift to stoke every surfing dad.

Morning of the Earth Surfboards

For some the modern short board will never make sense. To me there are elements of the past that are still viable today, when blended with all we have learnt in the past.

Warner Surfboards started in 1996 after 5 years shaping and learning from Greg Clough at Aloha Surfboards in Brookvale.

Outer Island Surfboards

In an age when the soul of surfing is run by surfing corporations and the art of shaping has gone to the machines, at Outer Island we are holding on to the grass roots.
