Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Winds are light from the N-NW on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are clean yet again. Swell has picked up a bit overnight with surf around 2' along the Middleton - Day St. stretch, a smidge bigger down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Waits and Parson's will offer a bit more size and clean conditions. NW winds will pick up a bit during the morning and tend more NW-W after lunch, possibly around 20 knots. It'll stay clean all day but exposed stretches may have a few bumps from the cross-offshore wind.
