Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

It's icy on the on the South South Coast this morning with a temperature around 3°C and light NE winds. The swell has straightened up nicely after a weekend of lumps, with waves around 3' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, and 1 - 2' around at Chiton / gap. Waits and Parson's will be bigger, Parson's again may favour the Easterly component in the wind. The forecast looks pretty good for the rest of the day with NE winds around 10 -15 knots.

...... Check out the Father's Day Special on Coastalwatch. A gift to stoke every surfing dad.
