Surf Report Info
Region: Chiton Rocks
Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

Today's rating - Excellent
Conditions are clean on the South Coast early with light NW winds, and clean, well lined up swell again. Surf is around 2 - 3' along the Day St. - Goolwa stretch, with some bigger waves around at Waitpinga and Parson's. Swell may pick up a bit during the day, but it looks like it'll probably get blown out by 20 knot plus NW winds. The forecast predicts winds will turn Westerly for a while, then back to the NW again by late arvo. Swell won't be big enough for part sheltered spots today, but the next few days look promising.
