Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Looking good again on the South Coast for the third day in a row with offshore NNE winds, but smaller swell. Surf is around 2' along the Middleton - Day St. stretch with a few bigger sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. Waits and Parson's will be your best bet for a shortboard wave this morning, but everywhere will fall prey to the wind soon. Strong Nor-westers are on the way, and the coast may be blown out by mid-morning. NW-W winds may gust over 30 knots after lunch, and once that wind arrives it'll quickly become a write off for the rest of the day.
