Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Pretty Good

Onshore Southerlies are around 7 knots on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are still a bit lumpy / peaky with the light onshores Surf is around 2' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, with lumpy 3' waves around at Waits and Parson's. It's worth keeping an eye on today with winds forecast to become light and variable by late morning, and possibly even a bit offshore NW early arvo. It should clean up a bit and stay reasonably straight with light NW-SW winds until evening. The chance of onshores popping up again, of course, always looms...
