Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Pretty Good

Winds are from the West at around 10 knots on the South Coast this morning, and conditions are not bad early. Surf is around 4' along the Middleton - Day St. stretch and a few bigger sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. There are clean 3' waves around at Chiton / Gap, Waits and Parson's will be bigger. The forecast is predicting SW winds this morning so it may go a bit onshore and bumpy along exposed stretches, but winds should shift back to the West and possibly even NW by evening. Part sheltered spots like Middleton Bay or The Dump will be OK all day.
