Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Average

Swell's up on the South Coast this morning but so's the wind, with onshore Southerlies gusting over 25 knots and big, sloppy conditions. Surf is around 6' along the Middleton - Day st.stretch and like a big washing machine, with messy 3 - 5' waves running between Victor and Port Elliot. Swell will stick around all day but exposed spots will be a total write off for all of it. There is a ray of hope with late wind shift to the SE, and the potential for some sneaky spots the other side of Victor to get going.
