Surf Report Info
Region: Chiton Rocks
Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

Today's rating - Epic
The South Coast is looking very good early this morning with light offshore North winds and clean, solid lines of swell. Surf has picked up to around 5' along the Middleton - Day St. stretch, with bigger sets down toward Cliffs and Goolwa. There are glassy 3 - 5' waves along the Victor to Pot. Elliot stretch, Waits and Parson's will be solid and shutting down on the sets. The forecast predicts winds will remain offshore all day, but build to around 10 - 15 knots during the morning, possibly stronger after lunch. If the breeze hits 20 knots it'll get a bit blowey after lunch, but let's see what happens.

For some the modern short board will never make sense. To me there are elements of the past that are still viable today, when blended with all we have learnt in the past.
