Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Conditions are clean on the South Coast again this morning with offshore NE winds around 10 knots. Surf is around 1 - 2' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch with the odd bigger set, and 1' around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson's will offer a bit more size, the East in the wind will slightly favour Parson's. The forecast predicts NE-N winds at 15 knots all day, shifting NW late arvo. Swell will remain in the small size range, possibly lifting slightly mid arvo.
