Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Conditions are clean on the South Coast early with light North winds, and swell lining up well again. Surf is around 2' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch and may be a bit slow, with 1' waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson's should be a bit bigger and will hold up better after lunch. The forecast predicts offshores all day, possibly up around 20 knots through the middle part of the day. Hopefully the breeze won't blow it out too much, and it'll be clean and offshore all day.
