Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Swell is still fairly solid on South Coast this morning, and conditions are clean with 5-10 knot WNW winds early. Surf is around 5' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, and glassy 2 - 4' between The Dump and Knight's. Waits and Parson's will be struggling to hold the sets, but a couple of other options around that side may be worth a squiz. Winds look like tending more W-SW during the day and increasing to 20 knots after lunch. Part sheltered spots like Middleton Bay will probably hold out the best, but expect exposed breaks will be bumpy after lunch.
