Region: Chiton Rocks
Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

Today's rating - Excellent
It's looking good on the South Coast this morning with light NNE winds and clean, well lined up swell. Surf is around 3 - 4' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, and there are clean 2' waves around at Chiton / Gap, Waits and Parson's will be bigger, both beaches will be glassy early. The forecast is for offshore Northerly winds around 10 knots all day, so there's no rush - it'll be good from sunrise to sunset.
