Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

Today's rating - Pretty Good
Strong offshore NW winds are blowing out the South Coast this morning, with gusts over 30 knots along exposed stretches. Swell is a bit too Westerly despite being bigger, with 2' waves along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, and probably a bit bigger around at Waits and Parson's. The forecast predicts NW winds will remain in the 30knot range all morning, then shift Westerly after lunch and ease a bit by evening. A late SW change will turn winds onshore tonight, but it'll be blown out all day.
