Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Conditions are clean on the South Coast early with light WNW winds, but it's chilly with air around six degrees. Surf around is 2 - 3' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, with 1' surf at Chiton and Waits and Parson's probably a bit bigger. The forecast predicts Easterlies around 10 knots through the middle part of the day, tending onshore SE after lunch. Once the winds kicks around to the East it'll start to get lumpy, and the onshores will make it feel more like November after lunch. Get on it early.
