Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Average

Onshore Southerlies are around 15 knots on the South Coast this morning, and conditions have reverted to the usual summer slops. Surf is around 3' along the Middleton - Goolwa stretch, with wobbly 1 - 2' waves around at Chiton / Gap. Waits and Parson's will be a bit bigger but probably not worth the effort. It's gonna stay onshore in then 15 - 20 knot range all day today so nothing much will change, try a grovel in the Bay if you're desperate.
