Surf Report Info

Region: Chiton Rocks

Reporters location:

Coastalwatch surf reporters are the saltiest locals around. Part fish, part shark, part human, they live for the waves and are usually more local than the locals. They’ll be up before dawn waiting for first light to reveal the days surf conditions and can sense a change of wind from a sparrows fart. Each reporter covers a region of coastline which includes many number of surf spots and beaches. Please consider there may be possible variations between this report and your local spot due to differences in orientation to the coast and any local idiosyncrasies that may also effect the swell and weather patterns.

    Today's rating - Excellent

Finally winds are light offshore on South Coast this morning, and conditions are glassy with just a bit of leftover wobble in the swell. Surf is around 3' at Middleton, with a few bigger sets from Cliffs down toward Goolwa. There are glassy 2' waves around at Chiton / Gap, and bigger waves around at Waitpinga and Parson's which could be good this morning. The forecast predicts NE-N winds in the 15 knot range all day so it won't get blown out, and the swell will straighten up some more during the morning. The weather's great too, so make the most of it.
