A New Type Of Surf Experience

It's 7am and you're making your way down the leafy beach trail at Tallows Beach after a restful night in Byron Bay. As the Branches from the brush clear, you and your family or mates hit the water, protected from the devil winds. After a solid two-hour session with two leaders in women's surf coaching, you return to a five-star lunch and a video analysis of your mornings' session. The afternoon loaded up with a massage, spa and a hike up to the Cape Byron lighthouse.

Jenny Boggis and Serena Adam have been slowly and carefully building the foundations of Surf Getaways for nearly a decade. They've now opened the doors to an incredible surf experience for women and families in Byron Bay and Fiji.

It's more than just surfing, the Surf Getaways that Serena and Jenny run are a way of reinvigorating the surf spark for women in a fun, productive and comfortable situation.

"No one who starts surfing ever truly gives it up," says Jenny. "Life takes women in some very different directions but most return to the ocean at some point. Some people [who come on the retreats] are starting for the first time, some are getting back into it after kids, travel, moving, work. It can be really tough and intimidating, so [Serena and I] we've brought our experience in coaching and passion to provide guidance and support to get you out there and to the next level."

And it really does come naturally for Jenny. After travelling the world as a professional surfer for eight years she took the brave decision to change direction. She put all her energy into becoming a coach and trainer for elite surfers. Within the year she was approached by Billabong to take on the role as team coach for the QS and CT women's team where she supported, mentored and coached the top females in the world. "I love to see women light up because of surfing. I love breaking things down with them, analysing their skills and delivering them the assistance they need to take it a step further."

Together with Serena who Jenny says is the most well-rounded surf coach in the industry, they have put together the perfect surf getaways bundled with top class accommodation, coaching and activities. "I've travelled my whole life with surfing so Serena and I have wrapped up a good solid holiday with a well-delivered coaching package. We want to tick all the boxes with the destination, coaching, yoga, food and activities."

*Surf Getaways are offering a 10% discount [with code CW10] for you or your partner for the October short or long stay coaching getaway in Byron Bay. BOOK HERE.
