Josh Kerr laid on a show for the thousands of spectators lining Bondi Beach yesterday for the final of the Boost Mobile Surfsho, scoring a 9.0 for a forehand mute-grab reverse to claim victory and the $25,000 winner’s cheque.

Along the way, the 26-year old Gold Coast aerial specialist took down some of the world’s best surfers including Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow and two-time event champion Owen Wright as the morning’s competition got underway on a beautiful beach day at Bondi. The waves were around two-foot, a little smaller than many of the competitors may have hoped, but otherwise conditions were perfect: clear skies and sunshine gin-clear water.
