We have seen no shortage of solid groundswell over the past week on the west coast. Large to XL, back to back groundswells have been seen from Wednesday the 15th through until today, Monday the 20th.

Initial peaks in wave heights for both swell events fell under an onshore flow on Wednesday and again on Saturday. Wednesdays mid-period pulse saw massive wave heights across exposed breaks somewhere within the 12-15ft+ range across exposed reefs down South. Bays and Points delivered the goods throughout the day. Offshore winds coincided with easing wave heights on Thursday from around the 6-8ft range.

Friday morning saw glassy 3-5ft surf, easing slowly before extra long period energy in WSW groundswell begun to show late in the day and overnight into Saturday. Initial energy saw wave periods within the 18-20second range. Strong peak energy arrived throughout the afternoon with Cow bombie dishing up some massive 20ft+ peaks for the local tow crews including Jarryd Foster and Mick Corbett.

Onshore winds swung into the SE overnight revealing mostly clean XL surf on Sunday morning. The majority of breaks were maxed out through the morning with massive sets within the 15ft range. A hand full of local chargers took on Margs and Yallingup Main break. North Point was a stand out throughout the day as was Injidup. Further north Perth and Mandurah surfers enjoyed some decent 3-4ft surf. The WSL sanctioned Subway Surf series scored with some solid peaks at Trigg.

Offshore winds returned this morning, Monday coupled with an easing SW groundswell. Down South saw stacked 6-8ft early, easing into the morning, grading 1-2ft+ Perth, Mandurah.
