John Barton - The Jungle Myth

A little insight into the life behind the mysterious @johnnyjungle (John Barton) who lives his life shooting some of the most amazing images out of Indonesia. Johnny bases himself in the heart of the Mentawai Islands at the epic Pitstop Hill Resort as the staff photographer. How this project came about - I was on a swell mission with Alex Smith and Riley Laing in Indonesia and we chased the swell to the Mentawai's where we linked up with Johnny at the hill. I was pretty interested into the life Johnny lives and had been following his work for years so I decided to sit down with him and have a chat. Taylor Steele
The most influential surf filmmaker of all time? They didn’t name one of surfing’s most dominant eras the Momentum Generation for nothing. Taylor has done it all, from fact paced high-energy hits of the 90s, to beautiful cinematic travel based films, to profile films, music videos, he even chased one swell from Tahiti to Alaska. His latest film Missing showcased a different side to three time World Champion Mick Fanning as he was set loose on the world for three months to get lost. He famously created the clip based viral surf competition Innersection, and his music video for Unwritten Law's Teenage Suicide was nominated for Billboard's Alternative Music Video of the Year in 1999.
