  • Northern NSW Regional Morning Report: 6am Saturday, 23rd January:  The SSE groundswell is on the decrease and smaller again this morning. Coming off an earlier high tide at 5.30 am and running out to a low tide at 11.30 am. A light SW breeze. Best off getting in early with more swell hitting the wide-open south-facing breaks to waist high. Only knee high on the Points. On the average side but worth getting wet and enjoy the warm water temp at 24c. Enjoy your Saturday!

    Rest of the Day Outlook:

Surf forecast. Average 2 – 3ft+ am to smaller 2 - 3ft SSE swell in the pm on 12 sec intervals.

Small leftovers from the S/SSE with a possibility of slight NE windswell in the mix. Generally early NW to NNW winds tending mod/fresh NE in the afternoon. Head for northerly protected corners as the NE wind increases.

Coastal Waters forecast. Winds Northerly 10 to 15 knots tending northeasterly 15 to 20 knots during the day.

Swell Southerly 1.5 to 2.5 metres, decreasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning.

    Weather Mostly sunny.

Weather synoptic. Moderate to fresh, occasionally strong, north to northeasterly winds are expected to predominate along the coastal waters during the coming days as a slow-moving high-pressure system remains over the Tasman Sea. However, a weak trough is expected to bring a brief southerly change to the southern coast on Friday, extending to central parts of the coast on Saturday, before northeasterly winds return to those parts of the coast on Sunday.

    Tides HIGH 5:32 am 1.36 m LOW 11:38 am 0.79 m HIGH 5:08 pm 1.15 m.
