Sydney regional surf report, 6.45am Wednesday, 20th January: An anticipated kick in long-period southerly groundswell has arrived well below forecast levels, producing junky head high to occasional double overhead sets at south-exposed beaches, while wrapping at pretty accessible chest to head-high plus levels along less exposed stretches. Onshore SSE winds at 10-15 knots aren't doing it any favours, but it should improve a bit as the onshore flow continues to ease throughout the morning. Rest of the Day Outlook: South groundswell will continue tp produce infrequent, but powerful sets throughout the day, as lighter SE winds gradually open up better conditions as the day progresses. Low tide is at 8.07am and it fills in to a 2.08pm high, and then returning to a n 8.39pm low. Have a good one.
