Sunshine Coast Regional Morning Report (Sunday 17th January 6:25am) If you're keen to get out early for a surf this morning, don't expect too much other than wind affected left over Easterly swell along the more exposed locations due to the fresh SE winds currently in play. The open beaches have the larger waves, with choppy waves in the knee to stomach high range on offer with the southern corners having more favorable surf conditions beng sheltered from the south easterlies and offering a smaller cleaner wave, more suited for the beginners and longboarders out at The Bluff and the corner of Alexandra Headland. We are just coming off a low tide (Maroochydore) 4:23am, so expect a slight push in swell as the tide rolls back in through the morning.
Rest Of The Day Outlook: SE winds freshening up to 15 knots plus, then tending more easterly through the afternoon, with the continuation of wind affected surf conditions across the regions open beach stretches, with Alex, Point Cartwright, Dickys to Ann Street, having the better waves. The high tide around 11am (Maroochydore) will bury most of the smaller waves on offer, shaping up more as the tide backs off in the afternoon. Low Tide (Maroochydore) 5:38pm
