Gold Coast Morning Report, Friday, 6.45am: Traces of background east swell are mixing with a hint of directional south swell, producing tiny, inconsistent surf in the ankle to knee high range. On the upside it's clean and sunny, with light offshore WSW land-breezes still in play, but expect some texture to develop as wind swing to the NNW, north and pick up mid morning. Low tide is at 8.23am.
Rest of the Day: Slight south and east swells will continue to pulse at tiny-levels throughout the day and freshening northerly winds will progressively erode surface quality, so it's probably worth getting wet sooner rather than later. The tide runs in to a 3.40pm high. Have a great day.

For some the modern short board will never make sense. To me there are elements of the past that are still viable today, when blended with all we have learnt in the past.
