    Summary
A steep overnight decline in ESE swell opens up a wider range of surfable options across the region this weekend, with early light and variable winds seeing clean conditions both on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Tropical cyclone Uesi’s rapid poleward track brought the system from the southern Coral Sea, down into the central Tasman Sea by Friday morning. Over the period we’ve seen TC Uesi transition from a tropical cyclone to a sub-tropical storm; supporting a broad easterly quarter fetch across its southern and eastern flanks all the while. While core wind-speeds generated by the storm have steadily eased in line with ex-TC Uesi’s southward movement, the associated wind-field expanded across its southern flank.
