Ozzie Wright Has Entered Reelers, Have You?

Ozzie Wright, the freesurfing Worzel Gummidge, has thrown his top hat into the ring for a piece of the $20,000 on offer in Reelers, Surfing World’s first Short Surf Film Competition.

Oz got together with his good mate Andrew Christie, did a morning of slip sliding around the Northern Beaches on his four foot finless rabbit’s foot, cut the footage into a clip under three minutes long and submitted it to the Reelers home page. EASY PEAZY! The whole thing took him less than half a day to do and if the judges deem his efforts worthy then he could be walking away with real cash money!

Enter Reelers here

So what’s stopping you from entering? Haven’t got a camera? Use your phone! Haven’t got a surfboard? Use an air mattress! Haven’t got surf? Make your movie out of Lego! Haven’t got a clue? Jump on the home page and scope some of the ideas already out there! You can do this. You can win!

Entries for Reelers close September 1st, meaning you’ve got two weeks left to pull your finger out and get your mini movie happening.

Categories and prize money include…

Youth – Presented by Goal Zero and Judged by Jack McCoy – 1st Prize $5000

Action – Presented by Nikon and judged by Kai Neville – 1st Prize $5000

Story – Presented by Corona and judged by Taylor Steele – 1st Prize $5000

There’s also a $5000 Coastalwatch Plus Audience Award for the film voted as crowd favourite.

This is your chance to make a mark in the surf film folklore, have your work seen by the greatest surf movie makers of all time and walk away with handfuls of paper money to throw in the air and light your cigars with.

Don’t delay, enter Reelers today!
