A powerful round of WSW swell kicked in across the Victorian coast over the weekend, peaking at a solid 6 to 8ft across exposed Victorian beaches before scaling down into the 5 to 6ft range by Sunday.

The swell came in a little undersized across the Surf Coast on Saturday morning; by all reports only amounting to 2 to 3ft before picking up during the day and levelling off around 3 to 4ft on Sunday and Monday. The sustained size in large part attributable to the steady shift in swell-direction from SW to SSW.

In the wake of this episode, we begin to see a series of smaller, long range WSW groundswells emerging as the dominant source of surf across the region this week.

Here's a little look into how part of the Victorian coast fared.
