It was with a heavy heart the surf & bodyboard communities learned of the passing of much loved and respected waterman, Tyson Williams last week.

The all-arounder from Manly, NSW shot to fame in the '90s making his love of bodyboarding a profession with the support of Rip Curl and Morey. His fun-loving and dynamic approach to life made him an integral part of the bodyboard movement while it was at its peak. Tyson.

From Teahupo'o to Pipeline and many slabs in between, 36-year-old Tyson had an emphatic love for charging big waves and his energy in the lineup inspired so many bodyboarders and surfers to go big and take on waves they never dreamed.

His loss has been felt worldwide and in celebration of his life, Tyson's friends and family took part in a ceremonial paddled out at Warriewood Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches on Monday 29 August.
