COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

By entering this Competition (the "Contest"), you ("Contestant" or "you") agree to the following terms and conditions (the "Contest Rules"). By completing an entry form to the Contest, you signify that you have read, understand, and agree to the Contest Rules. Should you object to any term or condition of the Contest Rules, your only recourse is to not participate in the Contest.

Item 4    Minimum Age For Entrants     18

Competition Dates:

Entries for the competition start on Friday 22nd March 2019 and conclude at 05.00pm AEDT Friday 7th may 2019.

Coastalwatch.com will select and announce the winners by 05.00pm on the following dates: 

  • Prize 1: Snapper - Friday, March 29, 2019 @ 5pm ADST
  • Prize 2: Bells - Friday, April 12, 2019 @ 5pm AEST
  • Prize 3: Margs - Friday, May 17, 2019 @ 5pm AEST

Q.             How can I enter?

A.             Entrants must fill out the entry details on www.coastalwatch.com and answer in 25 words or less "Who you will give your second pass to and why?". Entry is only open to current Coastalwatch Plus Subscribers. Current members must be active and paid in full.

Q.            Who is running the Competition?

A.             The Promoter’s details and associated parties are listed in Item 1 of the Annexure

Q.            Who can enter?

A.             Entry is open to all permanent Australian residents over the age of 18, however in some instances entrants may be younger (see Item 4).  Employees and immediate families of the Promoter and all suppliers, providers and agencies associated with this competition are ineligible.

Q.             How do I know if my entry has been accepted?

A.             Your entry will be deemed accepted only once you have received your successful competition entry confirmation email from The Promoter. The Promoter takes no responsibility if your entry is lost, late or misdirected.  The Promoters’ decision to all aspects of the competition in final and no correspondence will be accepted.

Q.             What happens once the Promoter receives my entry?

A.             Your entry will become property of the Promoter who may use your personal information in order to conduct the competition.  The information you provide, unless you advise the Promoter in writing and the Promoter confirm its receipt (also in writing) may also be stored and entered into a database and may be used for future competitions, marketing and publicity purposes in any media without notice and without any fee being paid.  If you have supplied an image and/or photograph/s, the Promoter can use it without compensating you and the Promoter will own copyright in the image and/or photograph and any associated materials.

 

Q.            What happens if I no longer wish to take part in the competition?

A.             You need to advise the Promoter in writing.

Q.            How do you decide who wins?

A.             Entries will be chosen by Coastalwatch.com by game of skill.  The Promoter reserves the right (at its sole discretion) to request winners provide proof of identity and residency at the nominated prize delivery address, and/or proof of entry validity.  The Promoter reserves the right to validate and check the authenticity of any prize claim or entry before awarding a prize.  The winning entry will be selected from all entries received at the close of competition at the offices of the Promoter.  The winner/s will be notified by email and their details will be published on the Promoter’s website.


Q.             What is the value of the prize?

A.             Please see Item 3 in the attached Annexure.  The total value of the prize is in Australian dollars and includes GST.  The recommended retail value is provided by the supplier, correct at the time of printing.  The Promoter accepts no responsibility if the value of the prize changes.

Q.             How many prizes can I win?

A.             One prize package per person and the prize cannot be transferred, varied or redeemed for cash.

Q.            How do I claim a prize I win?

A.             Prizes must be claimed within 72 hours of the winner/s being published.  If the prize remains unclaimed or the winner is unable to accept the prize (for whatever reason), the winner will forfeit their prize and will have no claim.  The Promoter reserves the right to re-award at the same location such unclaimed prizes within seven (7) days of the original prize being awarded.  In the event of a re-allocated winner, their details will be published on the Promoter’s website within 24 hours of the re-award.

Q.            What’s not covered in the cost of the prize?

A.             All expenses (including but not limited to delivery, taxes and insurances) become the responsibility of the winner unless otherwise stated in the prize description in Item 3 of the Annexure.

Q.            What will I get if the original prize is unavailable?

A.             The Promoter has the right to substitute the prize for another of equal or greater value.

Q.            What happens if my prize is damaged or lost?

A.             The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies take no responsibility if the prize is delayed, damaged or lost in transit.

Q.            Are there any tax implications?

A.             Sometimes this may happen.  You may wish to seek independent tax advice prior to accepting the prize.

Q.            What happens if I incur a loss or damage from the prize?

A.             If you suffer any loss or damage whatsoever suffered or sustained (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law in connection with any prize, the Promoter will not be held responsible.  Please be aware that before receiving the prize the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter at its discretion.

Q.            What can alter or prevent the Competition taking place?

A.             The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by:

  • defects, delays and any other problems affecting technical equipment or telecommunication systems;
  • infection by computer virus, bugs, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter;
  • tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud;
  • intervention of any outside agent or event which naturally changes the result or prevents or hinders its determination, including but not limited to:

-   vandalism, power failures, civil unrest, strikes;

-   tempests, natural disaster, acts of God.

Q.            Can I be excluded from the Competition?

A.             The Promoter can disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions and/or engaged in any unlawful or other misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper running of the competition.

Q.          Can I cancel my Coastalwatch Plus Account if I am the winning entrant?

A.           If membership is cancelled prior to completion of the Pro event you attend, winner forfeits all rights to prize fulfilment.

 * Gives Coastalwatch Plus permission to use any images/video/commentary as required.
