We have an amazing opportunity for an individual who is passionate about product and has a strong affinity with the surf culture to embark on a rewarding career in product management within the surfing industry. This product management trainee position will report directly to our Wetsuit Chairman and work within our technical product division at Rip Curl’s global head office in Torquay.

This is a truly unique role which will take responsibility for managing a designated product category within the wetsuit division whilst also undertaking a structured ‘on the job’ training program over a period of two years. Whilst being mentored by our technical product managers you will have the opportunity to learn and experience the entire life cycle of a product group and also work closely with the design, sales and marketing teams. Upon completion of the initial two year traineeship appointment the successful applicant will progress into a suitable role, ideally within the technical product division.

In particular, we’re searching for someone who lives and breathes the surf lifestyle. You will have completed your degree in business, marketing or similar and also have some relevant experience in a sales, product or retail role, ideally within the surf or action sports industry. Demonstrated business management acumen, analytical ability and advanced computer skills, particularly excel, are important requirements to ensure success in this role. Excellent communication skills and a team based ‘can do’ attitude are essential qualities.
