Forecast Issued Tuesday, 15 May 2018

The first half of May hasn’t exactly been filled with a series of big, back-to-back southwest groundswells across The Archipelago – but that doesn’t mean there hasn’t been waves; mostly ranging from 3 to 5ft across exposed breaks under moderate ESE tradewinds. Wednesday marks the arrival of another such pulse; pushing set waves back up into this range across the region throughout the day.

Beyond that, things are going to get smaller before they get bigger again – and you know what I’m talking about when I say ‘things’, right? Yep, the swell. We’re now on the cusp of a subdued phase in wave-activity setting in across the region throughout the second half of the week; brought about by a downswing in storm-development throughout the southern Indian Ocean. Of course, it’s always only a matter of time before the swell comes back up – and already we’re seeing new sources appearing on long-range charts for late March. Read on for the deets peeps.
