It’s taken some time for the southern hemisphere winter to kick into gear this year – and it really wasn’t until early this month that the Southern Ocean storm-track began to looks like its usual winter-self. That activity has continued to build in strength over the past week – and as it continues to gather momentum over the next few days it’s projected to culminate in the most active storm-track seen throughout the southern Indian Ocean in, well, yonks.

As you’ll see in more detail below, confidence is now building for an exceptional swell-event following in the wake of this activity; initially impacting Western Australia before propagating further north and east over the course of next week; in all likelihood producing some of the largest surf across Indonesia and the southern states seen in many years.
