Groms rejoice: Could this be the most incredible school holiday camp ever?

BL’s Blast Off
wrapped this weekend at Avalon and Whale Beach. It’s a pretty special event that focuses not just on the competitive side but on developing the groms – and micro groms – across all aspects of surfing. The fact it’s held during school holidays sees groms in their millions show up for a massive froth out.

The Northern Beaches are a sweet enough location for the event but next year Barton Lynch is looking at taking things even further, adding a BL Blast Off stop in Bali, which is certainly a location most parents wouldn’t mind spending the school holidays.

Held over the Easter school hols and crafted by Barton himself, the event is for 8-14 year old guys and girls and certainly beats the average school vacation care programs.

A gentle intro to Bali’s unique culture, waves and lifestyle, BL has partnered with the legends at The Perfect Wave to offer a great package for anyone keen to lock down their Easter egg hunt early. Staying at The Perfect Wave Surf Center, there’s a bunch of special events, surf spots surrounding your accommodation and long, hollow lineups to send both groms and parents into a blissful state not typical of school holiday mayhem.
