Afternoon Update:

Surfer Girl

Surfer Girl

Aloha!

Raining again, breezy again but at least the swell jumped a little yesterday afternoon. As soon as it started to come up the local crew started to hit it. Rocky Point had a few and inside Sunset opened up. Something it hasn't done for at least a week. The highlight of the day was a barbie for Dean Morrison's birthday at the Volcom house.

The island chain is surrounded by storms. Lots of low pressure activity to the North and heaps of wind to the East and South. It's going to be an interesting mix with the swell from the low pressures expected to push through the 'breezy' Trade winds. They even claim Santa's sleigh will get a push from the Trades and he'll get his Christmas deliveries done ahead of time. All we want for Christmas is a new swell.

This Morning:

Pupukea

Pupukea

Aloha from the North Shore,

We're still in the small swell and cloudy conditions and for something completely different it looks like it's going to rain again. The 'Windward and Marka (mountain)' showers have been driving us all crazy for days. It seems as though it has rained virtually everyday for a month. There have been rainbows everyday too.

The swell is still in the 2'-3' range and considering school's broken up for the holidays, it's the weekend and the Christmas holidays have began for a lot of crew there are people on all the breaks that have even a half decent wave. Sunset Point, Pupukea and a break half way between Gas Chambers and Pupukea know to the locals as Turkeys were all packed this morning. The wind and the clouds rolled in mid morning and there is still no sign of the 'back to back double digit' swells that everyone has been talking about. The malls are packed and tourists are sun baking under the clouds. We're all waiting for our "Chrissy' swell.
