World Oceans Day Competition

7 Jun 2011 0 Share

As surfers our search for waves takes us from our local beach to far reaches of the world’s coastline, but while we are acutely aware of what is happening between the beach and the sets out the back, the inherent connectedness of every ocean often escapes our awareness.

World Oceans Day on June 8 saw people around the world get together to celebrate the body of water which links us all.

Coastalwatch is celebrating World Oceans Day with a photo competition. Send in your favourite photograph of the ocean, showing us what it means to you. It could be a shot of the shoreline, a wave, an epic line-up, an underwater image, or simply a great sunset or sunrise shot at your local beach.

Entrants will have their photograph displayed on Coastalwatch.com and the winning image will be printed and mounted for your wall - at 95x70cm (image size within that will depend on the quality of the submitted image).

Entries close June 15, so get busy and show us what the ocean means to you.
