Lay Day for Day 1 of the Rusty Gromfest 2011

8 Jul 2011 0 Share

DAY one of the Rusty Gromfest has been officially called a lay day with only small waves on the Lennox Head Beaches this morning.

The southerly swell is quite accute and at this stage not hitting the beaches well enough to start the event so organizers have opted to use the waiting period to try and maximise the quality over the coming days. The event can run right through to Tuesday.

Today's weather is pristine and the youngsters will no doubt search out some fun waves today on the right tides in readiness for an early start to the event tomorrow.

When the action does begin, Australia and many of the world's best young surfers will be ready to rip!

Daily Press releases along with gallery links for outstanding photos will be available daily.

Any media enquiries should be emailed to Surfing Australia’s Media Director Steve Robertson , steve@surfingaustralia.com

The Rusty Gromfest is made possible due to the support sponsorships from the following: Otis, FCS, Waves, bandit.fm, The Northern Star, NBN, Nixon, Matuse.
