THE BREAKDOWN

SUMMARY: Deep low pressure system over the Tasman Sea to generate large S/ SSE/ SE swell for the entire East Coast

SWELL ORIGIN: Tasman low forming off the southern NSW coast on Tuesday morning.

PEAK SWELL: Sydney, Newcastle and South Coast: Friday and Saturday. Northern NSW: Friday and Saturday. Southern Queensland: Saturday to Monday.

BEST DAY TO SURF: Sydney, Thursday and Sunday.

SURFABLE AREAS: All exposed breaks holding the swell, southern corners and north facing breaks offering shelter from the prevailing southerly airflow.
