Last call for Entries in Australia's Richest Longboard Competition, the 25TH CJ ‘Snowy’ McAllister

A June institution in Manly over the Queen's birthday long weekend, 2012 marks the 25th anniversary of the Annual CJ 'SNOWY" McAlister Winter Surfing Festival.  

In celebration of this milestone the Manly Malibu Boardriders Club and Sterland Roofing will host an international field in what will be Australia's richest longboarding competition. Total prize money in the festival is set at $21,000, with the for the Dripping Wet Open 9 foot division at $16,000, and $5,000 for The Shop Next Door /Bennett Surfboards log division.  

Competitors will also relish in giveaways from Huey Surf Charters, Stick It Surfboard Wax, Vertra, McTavish, Gypsy Jacket, Tubed, Wasp bags, Aloha Manly, Von Weirdos, Green Ukelele, Valla Surfboards, Cunninghams Real Estate, 4 Elements Coaching, Tasco and FYI finance property and planning and Zanerobe

The Open division sees the crème of the Longboarding world go head to head.  Current ASP World Champion Taylor Jensen is set to make his debut in the event, alongside a strong Australian field comprised of former ASP World Title holder Harley Ingleby (NSW), current NSW champion Dane Pioli, Dane Wilson, Patrick O'Leary and Mitch Surman just to name a few.  

Eager to defend previous titles, prove their worth and take a share of the prize money will be local Northern Beaches legends Christian Pimm, Cameron Gray, Paul O'Grady, Mario Lofaro, Lynden Riley and Lawrence Harkness. The Women in the Wave's Open Ladies division will be just as competitive with Hawaiian Crystal Dzigas a confirmed starter.  

Leading the Australian's will be Melissa Combo, Isabelle Braly, Crescent Head's Jodie Barsby and a strong local contingency of Sue McComb, Sam Walker and Cloe Cummins. The Shop Next Door/Bennett Surfboards Log division featuring for the first time also promises some huge competition in Byron Bay's Brett Caller, Issac Fields along with Jack Lynch, Matt Aldridge and Josh Constable. Running over three days and attracting around 250 national and international competitors the Longboarding worlds elite will take to the stage in the always popular men's and women's open and age divisions as well as specialty events including tandem and SUP, plus plenty of off-beach fun throughout the contest. Widely known as the birthplace of Australian surfing, Manly was the location of the first World Surfing Championships held in 1964. As a national surfing reserve with over 100 years of rich surfing heritage, Manly constantly delivers fine waves throughout winter, so pack your wettie for June 9th-11th and you'll be in for a huge weekend of Surfing action. 

The 2012, 25th year anniversary event will be staged from 9th-11th June at Manly Beach, NSW Australia.  As the richest competitive Longboarding event it is set as the benchmark and forefront taking competitive Longboarding to new heights with men's and women's open and age events, Old mal, Log, Open 9 foot, SUP, SUP racing and Tandem division.  

Off the beach fun including function nights will also feature highly.
