The Barrel celebrates its first monthly grind. Check out the year long project, The Barrel, here.

About The Barrel:

iON The Barrel presented by Carlton Dry is a celebration of surfing’s holy grail as experienced, filmed, photographed and shared by those who seek out the majestic green heart of waves all over this beautiful planet.

For as long as surfers have been paddling into the ocean they have shared stories and tried to explain the magic that sits inside the waves they ride. New technology now helps us captures the vivid reality of the barrel and the raw beauty of the ocean in ways never before possible.

The Barrel is about sharing these sublime moments and bringing together an awe-inspiring collection of experiences in one space online. We like to think this is a cyber- version of the local beach car park where surfers and filmers from breaks anywhere in the world can all trade stories and showcase their best barrel moments whether they’ve just survived a monster swell on the North Shore, the hustle at Uluwatu or had a ripping morning at Jan Juc.

The Barrel hails pro surfers you know and treats you to vision and images from the most famous breaks in the surfing world. We invite any surfer, snapper and filmer with a passion for the barrel to showcase their skills, to get creative, to win incredible prizes and share their love of surfing with a like-minded crew. Shoot, share, upload and be win some cool stuff.

Stay tuned for iON The Barrel the movie – launching in November 2013.
