3 Waves That Make Psychic Migrations A Good Movie

3 Oct 2015 0 Share

The Volcom Surf Movie Psychic Migration has been premiering all over the world over the last 2 weeks. On 1st October, the Volcom crew took command of a pontoon in Darling Harbour, Sydney for the Australian premiere.

What do you expect when you turn up to a major brand's premiere? A couple of surf trips with good looking waves and progressive surfing? Psychic Migrations blew this preconception out of the water. It was a clever production put together by Director Ryan Thomas that showcases some of the world's best surfers enjoying the desolate yet perfect breaks and expressing their own styles. Free surfing at it's best and waves that are still being replayed in our heads 2 days later.

These are the top 3 waves that made our minds melt with envy.

Wave #1 - Rainbow Gliding Ryan Burch

The black silhouette of Ryan Burch, wrapped in head-to-toe rubber, gliding effortlessly and with the most incredible style through some of the deepest pockets and draw fluid lines over 12 foot of vertical wave face just topped all surf movies for the year. His surfing silenced the room who's eyeballs were fixed, like in trance to movements rarely used in modern surfing. He surfed probably ten waves but each seemed to flow into one blissful ride.

Wave #2 - Desert Dreaming Mitch Colborn

As Mitch Colborn and the gang made their way back to Australia and Mitch slid into one of the glassiest tube rides in the Great Australian Bite. As time slows down your mind illuminates with the possibility that maybe it's you holding that line, taking in the serenity of pretty much the best-looking wave of the day... The power of mind surfing hey!?

Wave #3 - Twinning with Ozzie

There was no way that Ozzie wasn't getting in on the rainbow board gig. And aren't we glad he did? Making every section count, the guy pretty much made this wave look like his local. Top to bottom, deep in the barrel and then again. What! Where is this wave and how do you get there...NOW!
