REEF WE HEART | Sponsored Video

When surfers, Victoria Vergara, Mike Lay and Anna Ehrgott recently to Greece with a $10,000 donation from Reef they were confronted with the reality of the refugee crisis. They had travelled to Greece to assist with a school building and educational development program at the Oinofyta Refugee Camp and Ritsona Refugee Camp in association with Armando Aid.

The refugees are existing in the camps as the result of conflict, and are made up of thousands of Afghanistan, Syrian and other Middle Eastern families. The temporary accommodation does not have water, electricity or facilities and the refugees can be housed in the camps for up to three years. One of the priorities of Armando Aid is to offer education to the hundreds of children among the community giving them opportunities for a prosperous future beyond their stay at the camps.

Reef has initiated a global humanitarian program to play their part in generational change. 'We Heart' is their altruistic way to intertwine their travel ethos, Just Passing Through with a broader community development and evolution. Reef ambassadors are getting involved with the bigger picture by taking time out to visit and actively be part of this the utilisation of funds towards the projects and aid.
