To the victors went the spoils at the Mothernest Tweed Coast Pro over the weekend, with Isabella Nichols and Jackson Baker clinching wins in fun 3-4 foot waves at Cabarita Beach against the top juniors from home and abroad.

Hailing from the Sunshine coast, Isabella Nichols held strong over Tweed Heads surfer Kobie Enright, who until now was undefeated on the 2018 Australian ‘QS leg, with wins at the Burleigh and Maroubra QS1000s. But the defining moment went to Nichols, after her vertical attack earned a 8.75 to seal victory. The result sees Nichols move to 12th on the QS ranking with two events left in the Vissla NSW Pro Surf series.

In the Men’s Jackson Baker of Newcastle faced the Gold Coast’s Luke Hynd in an epic goofy versus natural clash. With both riders in form, it was Hynd who took control early but Baker remained patient, building momentum to better a 5.00 for an 8.00, 8.5 and finally 9.15 to take top honours. Baker moves to 19th on the QS ahead of WA's Jack Robinson.

Event three of the Vissla NSW Pro Surf Series 2018 Vissla Great Lakes Pro QS1000 begins today at Boomerang Beach February 7 to 11.
