You, Two Buddies, And A World Renowned Pointbreak All To Yourselves

A local tribute to the Northern Rivers of NSW

It doesn't get much better than you and two buddies riding a world-renowned pointbreak all to yourselves.

It's a tale seldom told today, however, back in 1964 this was the life lead of Byron Bay surfers like Ray Gordon who did just that. Just Ray, his two buddies, and empty lines peeling into The Pass.

"The ocean puts me on the same page with any generation. It's a common language between us. We share our passions about the surf," says Ray, who has paddled out for a slice of life with Stone & Wood aptly titled Stories Of The Sea

The short film traces Northern Rivers residents leading a conscious lifestyle, with this episode featuring Ray, alongside local photographer Anrielle Hunt, as they explore a mutual love of the ocean that binds generations of likeminded surfers together… In doing so, they also tap into what it means to live slow... The way it should be.

The film launched at the Byron Bay Surf Festival’s 2018 Sunset Cinema, as part of The Way It Should Be series, which offers some candid moments from salty Byron locals and their connection to the Northern Rivers region.
