Australian Open Surfmasters

Lay day called for day 5 of competition

Organisers of the Australian Open Surfmasters have decided to call a lay-day for day five of the week-long event with the forecast of better waves for the final 2 days of competition.

Better waves and conditions are expected to hit the Forster/Tuncurry region tomorrow. A cleaner easterly swell is expected to pulse overnight that should see competition resume at the Tuncurry Breakwall (Nine Mile Beach) with the quarter-finals of the Open Men first to hit the line-up as the search for 10 Australian Champions from 10 divisions continues.

Yesterdays competition decided semi-finals in most divisions and with the following names competing the remaining heats on the running schedule, competition will be first class:

The event is again scheduled to get underway tomorrow at 8am EST.

The event will be broadcast worldwide over the internet at www.surfingaustralia.com where results, press release and the day’s best images will be updated daily.
