The Bells Beach 50 Year Storm Invitational Waiting Period Starts This Weekend

You may or may not have heard of the Bells Beach 50 Year Storm Invitational. It's an event so new that it hasn't been run before, with last year being its inaugural year but – Eddie Invitational style –didn't get the conditions needed to run the event and keep it special.

It's essentially an invitational specialty big wave event run on one perfect day sometime over the winter (June 2-August 31) at the iconic Bells line-up, and for a good cause. Sounds sick, right? Especially if we get to see some '81 style Bells competition, would be all-time!

Well, June 2 is this weekend, which means that the waiting period has begun.

So keep your ears open and your eyes on the forecast from here till the end of winter for news of the event that will honour the late Shaun Brooks.
