A Film Made for the Big Screen - THE ART OF FLIGHT Australian Cinema Premieres

The Metal Trailer

‘If you only see one movie at the cinema this year’… it’s an old cliché, but seriously - if you’ve even remotely interested in the mountains, snowboarding, action sports films or just groundbreaking outdoor cinematography in general, you’ll want to check this out. And you’ll want to see it big.

When it comes to extreme sports, the crew at Redbull have a reputation to uphold. Working with Winter X-Games gold medallist Travis Rice the crew that brought you Air Races, and generally help everyone from wing-suited skydivers to formula one race drivers put themselves in the way of serious bodily harm, have taken the action sports genre to task to create something big. Big mountains, big name athletes, big airs, and a production budget substantially bigger than any action sports film to date.

Filmed using the state of the art technology in some of the world’s most remote mountain zones - including Patagonia's Darwin Range, the Andes and Alaska's Tordrillo Range – Art of Flight captures what it is like to travel to some of the most remote places on earth in search of the most dynamic terrain and conditions, according to Rice.

“Our triumphs and tribulations are conveyed in this darker, more dramatic film... we walk a fine line between when to keep pushing it and when to pull back."

Sure, you could watch it on your laptop, but seeing Art of Flight on the small screen is kinda like playing Kelly Slater’s surfing on Playstation. This is definitely one you want to see at the cinema.

It’s oonly screening for three days, so make sure you check it out at the following cinemas:
