Best Weekend Since Easter
Gallery by Judy Scanlon
Surf has been pumping down here over the weekend. There has been a bit of a break in the good stuff since Easter, but if you were checking the surf Saturday morning, you were greeted to 3-5ft+ perfection.
The wind stayed perfect offshore all day, gusting from NNW to NW around the Surfcoast, grooming the swell to corduroy and making some super hollow sections.
The only negatives being sets were a little on the slow side, and it was crowded, being the weekend.
With the little bit of N in the wind, the surf was pumping everywhere along the whole coast of Victoria - Bells, Winki, Coulders, and 13th were all standout breaks and plenty of people were getting barreled of their nuts on all tides.
Sunday morning was similar size, maybe a foot smaller, although a little bit of lump had grained itself into the swell overnight. The reefs we again the pick with the early low tide.
With the water temperature is at 18.5 degrees Celsius, so it hasn't dropped much, no need to even get in at 3/2 as yet, but we better watch out over the next month...
