The last week Chief Forecaster Ben Macartney has been keeping us up to spped with the latest swells hitting Bali. Today Matthew McKay released the latest forecast for the upcoming week.

"The Indonesian coastline is currently under the influence of a solid long period SW ground swell. A gradual decline in wave energy will result in fun waves persisting through the first week of September before another large round of swell graces the shores from Monday September 7." Unfortunately there wasn't enough strength to build waves big enough to run the 2015 Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang but it's great news for everyone else, and the pros who can enjoy a couple of days of fun free surfing.

Hayden O'neill is a photographer working in Bali and he's hit the road to bring us the latest from the cliffs.

As the Indian Ocean kicked back alive this week, I hit the road in search of waves. I decided to head up to the Bukit where I was greeted with a rising swell and solid lines creeping in early Monday morning.

It was no secret that an all star lineup was in town for the last day of an extended waiting period for the Padang Cup. Damien Hobgood and Wade Goodall amongst others traded pipes at a solid Padang Padang in a late afternoon expression session as the sun set on Monday.

I woke Tuesday morning with the hopes of a building swell which saw inconsistent but very solid lines wrap around through Ulu's and down to Padang, but it wasn't enough for the comp to go ahead so I motored down along the Bukit and through to Balangan where I saw the majority of the best waves of my 2 day stint along this stretch of coast.

It was a solid afternoon with waves capping the 6-8ft mark on on the biggest sets, from a certain secret spot to the end of the bukit, this swell came to life and provided everyone with broken boards, beaten bodies and good vibes.

There's always a roar of energy around these swells, everyone's hungry for the dream lines and deep barrels. Awaiting the next stretch of swell this week. Check out the latest Bali Indonesia Swell Forecast 1 September - 10 September and the Coastalwatch Wavetacker so you don't miss a beat.
