Oh hey, would you look at that. We got a new website. How'd that happen? Magic probably, internet magic. But let's not worry ourselves with that, let's worry ourselve about what happened in surfing the past seven days. Hooray!

ASP

Twenty-year-old Zeke Lau won the Vans World Cup of Surfing at Sunset which gives him a career tally of one Sunset win, which is one more Sunset win than Kelly Slater... isn't that weird? Is that the only thing Kelly hasn't won? Do you think it bothers him? Do you think while he's eating cereal in the morning he stares at his 11 World Title trophies and lets out a slow sigh of despair, wishing that one of them was a trophy from Sunset? Probably. Anyway, how long until this young Hawaiian is smoking heats on the World Tour? He's ripping.

Volcom put together a really great edit for their rising star. Combining ASP footage and behind the scenes footage/audio, it's perfectly executed and is our pick for the best clip of the week.

And here are the highlights from the final day:

Another instalment of Red Bull's excellent Heat Redux Series. This one looks at SeaBass vs Kelly at the Volcom Pro Fiji which, if we remember correctly, was freaking pumping.

This is a good clip of Parko reflecting on his World Title year. It was produced by the peeps who made the Joel Parkinson Pro Surf Training, thing is legit and definitely worth a look.

Pipeline Pumped

Last Friday pumped, our mate Owen Milne got this clip out and is now basking in the world of hits over 100K scratching for 200k. Great work Milney.

And here is another quality edit of the same day. Holy John Florence!

And another from GoPro, (who seem to have cameras affixed to the surfboard of nearly every pro on the North Shore this Winter).

Episode Three from little legend Riley Laing's 6 weeks on the rock. This one is a great reflection of how tough it is to get a wave at Pipe and make an impact on the North Shore. Gotta love this kid's attitude.

RVCA keeps the good vibes and their series rolling. How's that big inverted air rev from young Kalani David?

Choice Clips

Kalani Ball's Surfboard Riding Video – So good to see a tight clip of this Stanwell park up and comer (props to Darcy Ward on the edit).  Have a look at the way the little whippet finishes his waves. Going places fast K-Ball!

Australian Surf Movie Festival 2014 – Tim Bonython's initiative is coming around again soon, and as a reminder, have a look at this compilation of epic from his past installments of the festival. Full details on the ASMF site.

Something to do:

The Surf Coast Surf Film Festival is on this weekend at the Aireys Inlet pub. It's a free event and all funds raised go to the Otway Boardriders Club. Get down there man. Aireys is the best place full of the best people so it's sure to be a hell time. Also… how good was Round The Twist? Loved that show. Remember how Bronson's feet smelled? That was classic… but umm yeah, go the film festival.

And that was this week in surfing. Have a good weekend everyone. CW out.
