The Most Intense & Spectacular Surf Trip I've Ever Been On

Photos by Morgan Maassen
25-year-old Morgan Maassen is one of the new age surf photographers most distinguished and established members. The Californian has spent half his young life shooting the world's top surfers in the world's most idyllic locations and has a solid collection of magazine covers and award-winning shots. His work has clarity, depth and maturity, it looks untouched but clean cut and each photograph has its own special story.
As part of the Corona Journeys, Maassen joined a squad of surfing's finest in Mexico and produced a neat little gallery.
“Mexico was exhausting. Between the desert heat, the bugs, the arid offshore winds, and jacuzzi-temperature ocean, it was a hostile environment, slowly trying to kill us. But the surf was extraordinary, and for six days, we indulged ourselves on pointbreaks, beach breaks, and as much beer and tacos we could possibly consume. Noa and Dane took to the air, while Craig and Taylor found as much shade in the barrel as possible. It was, without question, the most intense and spectacular surf trip I have ever been on, one that we all dream of re-creating” – MM.
