On 9th March Bondi was lit up with the sizzling sounds of the SurfAid Surfing Chefs event at Bondi's The Bucket List.

Mark 'Occy' Occhilupo joined some of the countries top chefs including Ben O’Donoghue, Stephen Scott CHARING, Massimo Mele, Ian Oakes, Gianluca Donzelli, Logan Campbell, Matthew Butcher and some of Bondi's famous local faces including Rod Kerr, Eugene Tan and Mary Anne Cronin.

“I’ve been an Ambassador for SurfAid for the past ten years, and I’ve seen the work they do helping mothers and their families in remote areas of Indonesia where we all love to surf. Said Occy on the night. "They are doing amazing things. It was a blast to be part of this event. I’m really stoked that the money we raised will save and improve a lot of lives.”

The evening, as usual, was an overwhelming success with a capacity turnout, the most sensational cuisine and over $65,000 raised to support the SurfAid's incredible work on the ground.

Celebrity chef Russell Blaikie created the concept of Surfing Chefs for SurfAid in 2011 and the series of events has now raised over $200,000 for SurfAid and helped fund their work in the Mentawai and Nias islands, off the coast of Sumatra, and Sumbawa and Sumba in Eastern Indonesia.

“I can't think of a better place on the planet than The Bucket List in Bondi. Tom and Andy pulled together a super-talented group of chefs from Sydney. Fellow sandgroper and ‘Surfing the Menu’ Chef Ben O'Donoghue flew down from Brisbane, and Matthew Butcher joined us from Melbourne” said Blaikie.
