STANDOUT SESSIONS

Gold Coast surfers awoke Thursday morning to find unseasonable rain squalls, and a strong S wind. The swell had jumped overnight from 1ft of NE swell, to 4-5ft of long straight S swell from an East Coast Low just south of Point Danger. With this new swell came strong North moving currents and this combination saw open beaches messy and largely unridable.

The Coolangatta points from Little Marley to Kirra fared cleaner in the Southerly and offered more inviting conditions which although not ‘all-time’ looked quite fun and surprisingly uncrowded.
