Surfers in Sydney are assisting in the research and aid of one of the biggest global public health challenges in history by participating in a one day surfing teams event.

Wipeout Dementia runs each May and November at Queenscliff and Bondi Beach thanks to the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA). It's a corporate fundraiser that has a 'strength for surfing exercise', element led by Coach Craig Douglass and culminates in an awesome Surf Off contest between teams - all to raise funds for CHeBA's research to change the future of dementia incidence.

Over four events an incredible $300,000 has been raised and there's no sign of slowing down.

1978 World Champion Wayne 'Rabbit' Bartholomew is one of the proud ambassadors for the program and is stoked to be part of each event. To find out more and get involved, visit www.cheba.unsw.edu.au
