On the Gold Coast on Sunday night (March 31, 2019), the WSL Awards officially crowned and presented their World Champions and other high achievers from the past year's pro surfing. Amongst them was the presentation of the 2018/19 Women's Big Wave World Champion, Keala Kennelly. Kennelly took the opportunity, as an openly gay World Surfing Champion, to deliver an incredible and impassioned speech, and one that should be watched and rewatched all over. Good onya, Keala, you legend!
